Aluminum Bronze and
Nickel Aluminum Bronze Alloys

 Custom Forged Plate, Rounds, Rings

Aluminum bronze alloys are custom manufactured to your required size and specifications -- ASTM, Military, Industry Standards -- with short lead times. We specialize in forging large blocks, plate, rings and custom shapes, and pieces can be finish machined to print. We also maintain a large inventory of aluminum bronze rod, bar and plate. (See Aluminum Bronze Alloy Guide and Applications.)

Forged aluminum bronze products, heat treated as needed, offer significant advantages over cast products. Because of their fine equiaxed grain structure, forged metals are particularly recommended for pieces that will undergo detailed machining. Cast products are more likely to have random inclusions and porosity that may result in inconsistent surfaces, machining limitations and excessive tool wear.

Testing/Certification

Custom manufactured products are ultrasonically tested for soundness.

Upon request, Nonferrous offers written certification on manufactured product, including alloy chemistry, mechanical properties and method of manufacture, in conformance with the above specifications.

Nonferrous carries a full line of aluminum bronze alloys in both wrought and cast form. Continuous cast alloys, recommended when machinability parameters are not critical, are available in stock as rod, bar and tube.

For plastic mold applications, see our product offerings under Thermal-Mould™ Copper Mold Alloys and Properties.

                                         aluminum bronze alloy  applications

Alloy Applications and Properties

C93200

Most common and economical bearing bronze (SAE 660)

C61400

High corrosion resistance; uses include heat exchanger tube sheets

C95400 (cast)
C62400 (wrought)

Alloy of choice for standard wear applications. As a cast-only product, C95400 is most economical; C62400 has superior machineability and is longer wearing.

C95900 (cast)
C62500 (wrought)

Standard drawing alloy with high abrasion resistance. Wrought product is longer wearing, with superior machineability.

C63000

High strength, anti-corrosive; applications in oil & gas, aerospace and marine industries

C63200

High strength alloy with exceptional anti-corrosive properties; used in marine and other corrosive environments
